May 26, 2021- Mid Week Update

Decided if I didn't send an update until Sunday, covering 2 weeks might be too long to read.  So I won't include anything about this week, only a couple of highlights from last week.

Life in the office is beginning to feel a little more normal.  Of course that depends on the day.  I spent a couple of days last week shopping for groceries for a mission leadership conference which was this week(I'll share more on that in the next letter) Made a trip to Costco which felt pretty normal.

Dad and I made a trip to Lowell Massachusetts last week, so dad could fix a TIWI in some sisters car.  While he is trying to get the thing in and connected, I'm standing  in the parking lot with 5 sister missionaries, getting to know them and keep all of us entertained.😅  Interesting group of girls. Some more outgoing than others.  But it was fun to get to spend some time with them.  I did not remember to take pictures🙄   I need to get in the habit  of doing that- so I will remember....
One of the sisters was from Heber and she and I have the same skirt! From Bohme.  She wants me to wear mine to transfers so that we can be twins. 😂  I told her I would, so if she remembers, I'll try to take a picture of that!!
After the car was ready to go, we took them all for ice cream and then after we said goodbye we found a local place for dinner.  Nothing like having dessert first!!

On Friday evening, we invited the other senior couples from the office and the area Dr and his wife over for dinner.  We actually were all able to sit together at combined tables and it was a good test drive for "just exactly how much space do we have". It was a relatively enjoyable evening.  What to say about the couples in the office ?!  Maybe the best thing to say for now is that some are more enjoyable and easier to get along with than others.  Some personalities (like the short man syndrome) can make some/most conversations "barely tolerable"

Saturday we went to Hampton Beach NH.   It is a sandy beach, wherly e we took off our shoes, walked along the shoreline, got a little wet and enjoyed the sunshine (until it got warmer than was enjoyable). We ate lunch at Bernie's Beach Bar, which is rooftop dining above the street.  So you have the ocean view and not the tourist traffic driving up and down the boardwalk.  Im including pictures of Pat the Fish and Atlantic Sparkler which are fish statues that look like sand sculptures that are along the boardwalk.  The middle of June will be the 21st annual sand sculpting classic at Hampton Beach.  I want to try to figure out a time to go see that - when hopefully it won't be horribly crowded.

Also included is a couple of pictures of the Merrimack River.  Which is a major river in NH and MA. It is 117 miles long which flows into the Gulf of Maine and out into the Atlantic.   Big enough to fish, boat, jet ski, water ski and crew on.  The pictures here are views from the street where I take my morning walks.

I think I will stop here, so that the weeks don't start to run together.

Hope that each of you are doing well.  I know you are staying busy. And I think that's a good thing,  We would love to hear about what is going on in your lives.  Thanks for continuing to add pictures to the frame here at the apartment.  They put a smile on my face everyday.  💟
Have a great rest of your week.  I'll write again soon and have dad add his input then. He is asleep at present.

Love you all,
Mom
